ABOUT ME
Below is a small snapshot of my journey.
The identity i built
To say I was an emotional kid is putting it lightly. Full of anger, anxiety, shame, I hit myself, cried myself to sleep, struggled to regulate myself for years.
From the outside, I was thriving in sport sport, popular, good grades asI built my identity on achievement. It worked on the outside but inside I was living in a constant mental prison.
When I got to an elite private school, I got humbled fast. My whole identity was built on being the best and that was no longer the case So I dove into numbing my pain with video games, sugar, and then gambling, anything that meant I didn't have to sit with myself.
There was no peace in myself and II felt like a failure often even while I was "succeeding." There were many great memories of course however I was still trapped inside my own identity and that showed up in all areas of my life - relationships, sport, purpose, family life.
The turning point
After high school I left a safe predictable path in law and commerce as I went through intense non-stop thoughts of death and an existential crisis I couldn't escape.
It was the death of the identity I'd built to protect me. I no longer had the environment of school to support it and I was just left with myself to find answers.
This started my journey of self-discovery and personal transformation over seven years ago.
The pursuit
What followed was a seven year deep dive into human behaviour. I enrolled in a psychology degree and halfway through I started finding gaps everywhere. The industry is built on labelling problems and managing symptoms and rarely creating real change at the root.
It didn't dissolve people's issues. It reinforced them. I finished the degree anyway but it left me feeling more stuck and searching for more. I knew if I never stopped asking questions, I'd eventually find something meaningful.
So I went looking everywhere else. 200+ books. 1000+ self-mastery podcasts. I started my own too and created the Timeless Mindset Podcast, now with 200+ episodes.
This put me into connection with mentors who changed the trajectory of my life. I've invested tens of thousands of dollars into mentors and certifications along the way, learning directly from people doing the work I respected rather than just reading about it.
I tried all of the personal development habits: ice baths, sleep tracking, meditation, journalling, breath work, cold showers, fitness and diet challenges, social anxiety exposure work. I even started a business with my best friend. I made semi-professional football which was the thing I'd been chasing for years.
All these pursuits helped me grow and learn but rarely fixed the underlying self worth because I still attached my worth and identity to performance.
I was still getting in my own way. None of this time was wasted. Every mentor, every book, every experiment was building the depth I now draw on to actually help people dissolve their limits and not just manage them.
the real work
I was interviewing a guest during episode 140 who was a holistic coach, human behaviour expert.
I'd been carrying shame and guilt around money for many years as I lost a few grand of my brother's money gambling.
A guest, Mitchell Vickridge, asked me a single question about it that brought me to tears live on the podcast: how did it benefit your brother?
I shook my head. It didn't, I said. I lost his money. But he had me go back to the actual moment, breathe and sit with the memory.
He asked again and I saw the other half of that story. It helped him express himself to me in a way he hadn't before being relatively passive with emotions. It also brought our relationship closer after that as we were very different people.
The tear of gratitude to balance that memory dissolved shame and guilt. Incredibly, within minutes I received a text which was an incredible opportunity to get paid very well to be a player coach of a team.
They were linked as I had not spoken to that individual for over 3 months and the timings were almost instant. Crazy. That left me with even more questions.
That was my first real taste of subconscious work and it changed how I saw everything. You can understand something intellectually for years and still not be free from it. This true first embodiment of the work inspired an 18 month deep dive into this new paradigm he introduced me to.
Real transformation happens in layers and through genuine shifts in awareness and embodiment, not through more information.
You can't see your own blind spots from inside them. That's the whole difference between managing a symptom and dissolving it at the root.
The same has been true in my relationships. The most transformative work I've done has been in intimate relationships.
You attract in your disowned parts and you're given every opportunity to grow and free yourself from what you've disowned in yourself.
The ultimate mirror for your own freedom even if it doesn't initially feel that way.
why i do this
Freedom begins in the mind. Everything you're looking for is already inside you.
I needed those seven years. Every mentor, every hard conversation, every layer I peeled back is what let me actually understand how change happens.
The difference between the survival identity you build to protect yourself and your true self underneath it isn't something you can think your way into.
This is why I love this work and helping individuals on a journey to discover their own power, love and freedom from inside.
Instead of spending years running in circles thinking they're broken or chasing after the next external fix, dissolving their subconscious limits and redesigning their life around their true mission and purpose.
If my story resonated and you would love to get a glimpse of this work, you're in the right place.
